SOUND BEGINNINGS is designed to strengthen alphabetic principles and foster the development of foundational reading skills through a range of engaging and interactive games. The app features twelve learning games that focus on phonics and reading, challenging players to identify the beginning, middle, or ending sound of various words. Users will also find four unique games that help in mastering letter sounds and their application.

SOUND BEGINNINGS offers six interactive games where players match the correct letter or sound to the initial, medial, or final sound of a word representing a pictured object. In a progression of increasing difficulty, the first three games prompt users to choose the appropriate letter or sound for the beginning, ending, and middle sounds of a word. For instance, when identifying the first sound of a word, lowercase letters such as 'r,' 'q,' 'y,' 's,' and 'j' are displayed horizontally across the screen in landscape orientation. By tapping any letter, users can listen to the corresponding sound.
Throughout the first three games, players are tasked with matching letters to pictures. The challenge level can be adjusted by selecting three, four, or five-letter words along with choosing rounds consisting of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 matches each.
The last trio of games mirrors the initial three but now requires matching pictures to letters. Players must associate images with corresponding sounds, gradually progressing through identifying the initial, final, and middle sounds in words.
Developed by a team of educators and early childhood development experts, SOUND BEGINNINGS has been tested with preschool children to ensure an optimal blend of fun and learning potential. The app showcases Preschool University's hallmark user interface and employs effective teaching methodologies to deliver both educational value and entertainment.
